About Us

The department of Mathematics has been functioning since 1968-1969 with M.P.C group . Keeping in view of the need of� the outer world,� new course M.P. Computer Science group was started from 2009-10 and MCCs ( Maths, Chemistry and Computer Science ) was started from 2020-21.Altogether, there are three Mathematics related groups in the college.At pesent the total� intake in all the three groups is 110 (M.P.C- 40,M.P.Cs-40� and MCCs is 30.) Lecturers of the department laid the foundation for planning and execution of work with discipline and devotion.� Students in large numbers settled in well in jobs, professions etc.� after completion of their graduation. Faculty members of the department are highly qualified, hardworking, and sincere in their teaching and giving good career guidance to students.� In addition to conventional teaching, faculty members are practising ICT based teaching. After the entry of COVID -19,the department went on online classes in platforms like zoom, Google Suit� etc in order to continue teaching learning process� and to educate the students .After the implementation of NEP 2020, single Major System has been introduced in� UG level replacing the existing three subject system. Consequently BSc degree with Mathematics Major� and Computer Science as minor� has been started� from the academic year 2023-24.

Mission

To Develop critical thinking and� problem solving skills� through the curriculum and other skill development courses ? To make the student understand the implicit relations among various branches of mathematics as well as the applications of mathematics� and� the interdisciplinary issues ? To make the student learn aesthetic value of mathematics and create� innovative ways� for learning mathematics.
